Chemical properties
2-Picoline reacts with inorganic acids or organic acids to form salt, and reacts with inorganic salts and haloalkane to form addition compounds. α-methylpiperidine or pyridine can be got during hydrogenation according to specific conditions.
Uses
1. This product can be used in producing 2-Vinylpyridine, nitrogen fertilizer synergist (N-Serve), long-acting sulfonamide, silicosis drug, livestock anthelmintic, poultry drug, organic phosphorus antidote, local anesthetic, laxative, additive for film photosensitizer, dye intermediate, rubber accelerator, and etc. It can also be used as raw material for medicine, dye, pesticide, synthetic resin, and fertilizer synergist.
2. This product can be used in producing dye, resin, pesticide, veterinary drug, rubber accelerator, additive for film photosensitizer, and etc. In pharmaceutical industry, it can be used in producing chlortrimeton, pyraloxime iodide, acetylcysteine, and other drugs.
